Several nearby towns put up elaborate Christmas decorations.
In Santiago there's a round-about in the middle of the city. In the center of the round-about is a giant metal Christmas Tree. It is huge! At night it's covered with lights and you can see it from far off. This is probably 3 stories tall.
In Alicia you will find three giant acacia trees across from the historic Catholic Church. These trees are massive. I have fallen in love with acacia trees. Their branches form a huge ceiling above and out from the tree. In November they decorate these threes with all kinds of lanterns and set up portable display booths of the nativity at the base of each tree.
Driving through Alicia in the evening you can see how they have added lanterns and stings of lights to the branches.
The Christmas Story is told in a series of displays. Here the angel is greeting the shepherds.

There is a feeling of religious tolerance here. It's quite refreshing to see public Christmas displays wherever you go.
