Annual Apartment Clean Up Day!

For the third straight year we designated a P-Day in January as our Annual Apartment Clean Up Day. Each missionary got a check list which provided for a very thorough cleaning. Also missionaries were asked to throw out any unusable items left from former missionaries and bag up any usable ones. Those items we washed and put into our very own Ukay Ukay at the mission home. The only difference is that our Ukay Ukay has no price tags on the items. Missionaries know that if they are need of shoes, suitcases, sheets, towels, or clothes they can check out our Ukay Ukay and take what they need.

Companions who finished the checklist were asked to turn them in to their district leaders and then their names were entered into our drawing for 7 fantastic prizes.
This year's prizes included:

• All Expense Paid Trip to the Mission Home for a dinner of their choice
• Homemade Bread, real butter and jam
• Plate of homemade cookies
• A GIANT tub of cookies and crackers
• A basket full of P-Day fun items (bubbles, squirt guns, mini basketball and hoop, etc.)
• A basket full of fresh fruit
• A basket full of Mexican treats (Chips, salsa, cheese dip, root beer, etc.)

This year's Trip winners were Elder Findley and Elder Salvador. We enjoyed having them come to the mission home and cooking for them.They requested lasagna, lettuce salad, garlic bread and blueberry cheesecake for dessert.
