New Missionaries and Their Trainers Orientation

Three weeks after our batch arrived we called the new missionaries and their trainers back for some additional orientation and training.

We also had them work together on a project of building a structure with straws. Then we gave prizes for the tallest and the strongest structures. You couldn't believe how tall they were able to build these structures. Wow! But the tallest wasn't the strongest!  In addition we gave a prize to the companionship that said they equally 50-50 shared in the idea building of the tower. Our point was that from the very beginning companionships should strive for a 50/50 balance in their planning and teaching.

Wow they really got it tall!

After some initial discussion, we separate the trainers from their new missionary. The Assistants take the trainers and President and I take some time with the new missionaries. We want to hear all about their experiences thus far. Then we swtich. Our goal is to catch any problems or misunderstanding of the rules early on so that we can help them get corrected.

 Afterwards we headed to the mission home for a delicious lunch and time to visit and get to know these wonderful new missionaries!

 Brothers Miole, Cajumban and Katoa (all former assistants) joined us for lunch and they had fun meeting the new missionaries and re-connecting with some of the trainers.
