Gamu Groundbreaking

We recently went to the little town of Gamu for the groundbreaking ceremony for a new chapel that the church is building there. We have about 55 faithful members there and they have been meeting in a little rented space. On a recent Saturday morning those members and community friends gathered together for music, speakers and the actual ground breaking. If all goes well with the construction they should be able to move in this August.

The property is located at the edge of town and you drive down a very long road into the town. The first thing visitors will be able to see from several miles as they approach the town will be the beautiful chapel. It is being build next to the town's elementary school. The beloved principal and lead teacher attended the ceremony and the principal spoke. She talked about having a beautiful edifice next to the school and how it would serve as a great reminder of all that faith and worship were important parts of their community. She was grateful that there would be a safe haven for families in her community. We were all very touched by her sweet words.

I was so touched to think that the church was willing to put so many resources towards a beautiful building when they only have 55 active members. It shows me that the church really cares about our faithful members, each and every one.
