First it was the typhoon, which has cut off power to many of our missionaries. (The word is that it will be sometime in December before that is restored.) Now its flooding in Tuguegarao and surrounding areas. It's been raining steady all week. The government is worried about the dam breaking and so they are letting water out, which is flooding the rivers and towns. One of our apartments had water up to the ceiling. Now there's 3-4 inches of mud all through the apartment. We're finding that with mud comes mosquitos. All of our missionaries in the flood area have been moved to other apartments. All of these problems have affected our work. These missionaries want to be working in their areas and being displaced is really tough.
We just saw a weather forecast and it's showing heavy rains for the next week. We need your prayers to help temper those rains, and that everyone will continue to be safe and that we can all get back to work!
The good news is that none of our missionaries are in danger. They are all safe and accounted for. We get at least a once-a-day update from all. So, no worries. We are fine. Your prayers for the rain to go away will be good.
