Alicia District Conference

We recently attended their semi-annual district conference. There were over 740 people in attendance. I taught with Sister Guanzon (Elder Guanzon's, an Area Seventy, wife) we held a two hour training for the women. She is such an amazing teacher and speaker. It was wonderful to work with her.

A bunch of the sisters got together after the auxilary training for a group photo. See why we loved spending the afternoon with these lovely women!

As usual we had numerous opportunities to speak on Saturday and Sunday. We are getting to know so many of the wonderful members in Alicia and it's wonderful to spend a couple of days with them. The church is about 20 years old in this area of the Philippines. The growth has been strong and there are wonderful families throughout the district.

The Relief Society prepared a lovely lunch for us before the afternoon training began.

This session was for people who are currently investigating our church (taking missionary discussion and deciding if they would like to be baptized) and new members. It was packed with wonderful people who have a sincere desire to know more about Jesus Christ and his wonderful plan of happiness.



At the conference we were able to see the two darling twins of Ranie (our gardener) and his wife Melanie. The boys will turn 1 years old on August 13. On the left is James Weldon Soriano and on the right is John Weldon Soriano. One of their friends told them they needed to have one more boy and call him Job Weldon (Job Well Done)! They are such darling little boys!
