Flowers in our courtyard--Mom this one's for you!

My mother has always loved flowers and taught me the names of many species. I wish she could see some of the beautiful flowers here in the Philippines. They are amazing.

We have a beautiful little courtyard between the Mission Home and the Mission Office. It is full of lovely flowers including orchids and other blooming plants. This one just bloomed. The photo doesn't do it justice. It was huge the blossom as about 6 inches tall. The red was so vivid and at the ends of the petals were bright purple tips. The red and the purple together was simply breathtaking! So mom, this shot is for you!
