June ZLC

Yesterday was a great day! Why? Because we got to spend some time with our great zone leaders! We recently transitioned from 7 zones to 11 zones. Now our zones align perfectly with the churches stakes and districts. It will be a lot less confusing. Our zones are smaller and it should be easier for our leaders to truly manage their jobs and it provides for more leadership opportunities for our elders. This was our first zlc since we expanded our zones.
We focused on working with leaders--working with members--and working with fellow missionaries. We had great and informative discussions for each topic. These are obedient and caring missionaries who are doing their best to lead and guide the missionaries in their zone.

 We were so happy to discover that we still fit in the living room of the mission home.

 President asked that I lead the discussion about working with members. We took a poll and discovered that only about 70% of the time our missionaries are leaving a gospel message when they eat a members homes. Our goal is 100% of the time we are in members homes we leave a gospel message.

 The Assistants lead the discussion on working with missionaries. They constructed a giant spider web and the task was to help three fellow missionaries get through the web without touching it. Elder Elgan made it just fine--with a little help from his friends.

 At the end they got confident that they could get Elder Griffin through! But I'm certain he touched the web!
The point is that as we help our missionaries avoid the dangers that can distract them from the work, we must be willing to lift them up. A great discussion ensued about how we as leaders can do that.

We have great leaders and it's a privilege for us to work with them!
