The Dichotomy

We were heading to the airport at the end of the Mission President's Seminar and I spotted this interesting sight. Along the banks for the river was a little community of very humble homes although they were painted bright colors. They lacked all modern conveniences. Then behind that area were huge super modern skyscrapers. That's really how Manila is--it's one of the biggest cities in the world. (Someone told me there's over 12 million people there--but I didn't check out those numbers.) There are some of the greatest restaurants, malls, hospitals in the world and intermixed with them all are little humble neighborhoods.
