New Arrivals

The only thing that keeps me going after we say goodbye to our departing missionaries is knowing that bright and early the very next day we will greet a new batch of excited, talented and very tired missionaries. Why are they tired? The North Americans have traveled from Salt Lake City via Hong Kong. Then they spend the day in Manila and join their counterparts coming from the Manila Mission Training Center. They take an all night bus ride and arrive here around 5:30 am.
We are so pleased with our newest batch of 13 amazing missionaries. Three elders and one sister are from the US. Eight are from various parts of the Philippines and one dear sister is from India. (She didn't get the benefit of going to Provo to attend language training school and so her trainer will be teaching her tagalog right here in the mission field.)

We fed them a big breakfast. Gave them a quick orientation and then let them shower and nap before the big transfer meeting. We will invite them to return to the Mission Home in two weeks for their official orientation. Our newest missionaries are: Elder Hamblin, Elder Huffstulter (our Alabama elder--he talks so funny!) Elder Oliver (from Fillmore Utah), Elder Caoayan, Elder Gloria, Elder Obiacor and Elder Horlucas all from the PHilippines. Our sisters are: Sister Pulu (Salt Lake City), Sister Dhikao (New Delhi, India--for all my Omaha friends she knows President Taylor and his family), Sister Certicio, Sister Adino, Sister Montejo and Sister Villamor from the Philippines.
